No, my opinion of oUr GrEat nAtIOn was already quite poor. The
documentary did remind me of many things I read in Permanent Record,
which you can download as a PDF or an EPUB. The CIA and NSA grossly
overstepped, they tried to hide their operations, Snowden brought them
to light, and has been branded a traitor, a spy, and an enemy of the
state, while he should really be considered a hero. It’s unfortunate
that little has happened to curb the state’s penchant for mass
surveillance since then, but I do still believe his actions were
incredibly brave and at the very least helped bring the issue a bit
further out of the recesses of the public’s mind.
